Jeff is a warm, professional, and sincere person who offers top-notch guidance about the world of publicity—all of which was a total mystery to me, before working with Jeff. He ran a fairly last-minute (on my part) poetry campaign for my debut book, which I am really grateful for. I also feel better equipped and informed as to how to maneuver the somewhat confusing and overwhelming publicity world, after learning so much from Jeff. It was worth every penny and saved me a big headache to hire Jeff who brings decades of experience and a lot of care to authors he works with.

It was fantastic to have Jeff work with us on the successful and impactful campaigns for our first two fiction titles from Third State Books. We’re a new publisher focused on the stories and voices of Asian Americans, and it was refreshing, and vital, to have a partner like Jeff who shares our vision and walks the talk of promoting and celebrating diversity in book publishing across the board.

For my traditional-publishing debut, Jeff was such a valuable resource! Not only did he answer all my questions and prompt possibilities, but he made use of his many connections to book review sites and discovered new ones for me. He also coordinated the events for my launch, juggling bookstore staff, "interviewers"/fellow authors, giveaways, and even one spoken-word poet. When a possible PR glitch arose, Jeff provided helpful suggestions for handling it. Through the whole launch process, he provided a calm presence, despite all the cooks in the kitchen and balls in the air. Thank you so much, Jeff, for everything.

I’ve known Jeff in so many capacities over the twenty-five years that we’ve been friends. During that time he’s been a zine maker, a book marketer, an author, and overall magnet of all things cool. His smarts and vision in the literary worlds—big and small—has helped authors and publishers connect with different audiences, getting the word out about books in creative ways.

It was wonderful working with Jeff on the campaign for my debut novel, EDISON — He provided invaluable ideas, guidance, connections, and strategies, and I am extremely grateful for his diligent efforts to get media, reviews, and events for the campaign, including the incredible citywide "Edison Reads EDISON" program launch. Not only is he an expert in his field, but he is also a joy to work with. I most certainly recommend working with Jeff, especially for those writers that are publishing their first books.

I had the pleasure of working with Jeffrey Yamaguchi on the launch of my historical fiction, THE INDIGO GIRL. It was amazing to have someone so knowledgeable and full of really smart marketing ideas at the helm of the launch. In addition to overseeing a great launch campaign, Jeffrey was also really open to supporting any other marketing ideas I had that I thought could work, and it was quickly clear that we would all be a team to release the book in the most successful way possible. And the reaches of our efforts continued long past the typical launch window and for that I am eternally grateful! I highly recommend working with Jeffrey.

Jeffrey Yamaguchi is the consummate marketing professional — articulate, knowledgeable, and imaginative. Being a poet, he is masterful at conveying messages and ideas with a few well-chosen, impactful words. As a guest speaker at the Flathead River Writers Conference, he gave an excellent presentation on building a strong, sustainable platform for authors and shared his in-depth experience with marketing.

I am here to tell you how powerful my conversations with Jeff have been. Everything he said was impactful. His ideas helped me formulate a broader marketing plan and act on it. Jeff transformed my campaign. After one meeting my entire preorder strategy changed! His practical advice tripled my website sales, got my books into bookstores and helped me to get podcasts and reviews. He is generous and kind and he knows his stuff. Every day I find myself saying, thank goodness Jeff told me… about a million different details that I didn’t know or needed to be reminded about. Do you have a book? You need to talk to Jeff.New List Item

I say this with no hyperbole: Jeff is our favorite person to work with. He not only understands the ever-evolving online and digital publishing worlds, he passionately takes part in them. He has pioneering ideas, and he remains an active part of the ongoing discussions surrounding these spaces. Because of this, he can communicate to everyone involved on a project, and he can understand the critical issues and the not-so-critical. That is, he understands the minutiae, but he doesn't get lost in them. When working with him, we always know that the project will go well, and we know we'll look forward to working with him again. We work with a number of publishers and imprints on a daily basis, and we've learned that successful projects don't depend on the companies or the materials; they depend, of course, on the people involved. Jeff is one of those people we can always count on. He's a gem.
