Writing Drafts is a podcast about getting the story down on paper at the speed of NaNoWriMo.
Throughout the month of November 2015, we joined the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) community through our podcast programming by showcasing interviews with writers, publishing professionals and inspiring people from the community-at-large seeking insights and ideas to help along the writing process. We also did regular check-ins with NaNoWriMo participants to see how they were feeling and how far they had progressed (or not) with their writing projects.
Just like the NaNoWriMo participants attempt to write a full-length novel of 50K words in a month, we aimed to launch the Writing Drafts podcast and produce 30 episodes in just 30 days. We did indeed hit the 30 episode mark, but our timeframe extended past the deadline by a few days into December. Not a complete success, but definitely an overall positive outcome.
Writing Drafts is a production of Narativ, a storytelling and listening media company. The show is produced by me, Jeffrey Yamaguchi, and Bart Warshaw. Bart also edits the show and composed the theme music.
