Robert Reich wanted to put out a quick book before the 2012 election. We felt doing a digital-only “eshort” was the right way to go, and because Reich was already engaged in lots of video work for MoveOn, we opted to incorporate original video into the project, thereby making it an “enhanced ebook.” We moved quickly to bring the ebook to the digital marketplace, and creatively leveraged Reich’s online platform to help spread the word about the project. Reich worked tirelessly to engage his readers, asking them to share their ideas on how to get #BeyondOutrage. The end result: the enhanced ebook landed at #3 on the New York Times Ebook Nonfiction Best Seller list.
