Authors connecting with readers is the key to the long-term success of every publisher. I truly believe this. It’s for this reason that I feel so strongly that authors need to have a dynamic, engaging digital presence. This was the thinking behind my effort to hold the first-ever “Author Digital Day” at Abrams Books, where we invited our authors to a workshop that focused in on strategies and best practices for establishing and building up their digital platforms. Presenters included Dan Blank of We Grow Media, Rachel Fershleiser of Tumblr, and Ami Greko of Goodreads. You can read my recap here, as well as an essay about the day by Dan Blank.
